Baby Shower for Hump Two...

Well the count down for Hump Two's due date is certainly on.. With only 6 weeks to go I thought I better squeeze in a baby shower to celebrate its soon arrival.. I am loving the colour palette of yellow and grey at the moment so I based the baby shower on these colours.. After a week of rain, we were blessed with a cold yet beautiful fine sunny day which was perfect for a sit down brunch..
The day was was everything I hoped for and a great excuse to leave our little ones with their daddy's and be able to eat our brunch without interuptions... Please Enjoy!

The Invitation...
The invitation was a reversable C6 card.. I sewed along the top and bottom, wrapped some ribbon around the middle and finished it off with two yellow buttons...

The Entrance...
To match the front of the invitation I put the words 'Sweet Baby' at the entrance...

The Decorations...
I purchased the fans from an online store, then I painted polysterine balls and wrapped wool around them... They hung in the trees above us...

I set four tables out in the backyard.. Luckily the weather was nice and the sun shined upon us through the morning...

Each table was decorated with yellow fabric, napkins in napkin holders I made from fabric with a button and safety pin, a vase with flowers, pots with chicko babies and mints to snack on, small bottle of maple syrup and a poem in a white frame...

I had a seperate table for all the food.. It was decorated with a 'onesie' banner, blackboard with a poem and vases with more 'wool ball' decorations...

We feasted on waffles, pancakes, bacon, quiche's, fruit salad, muesli slices, chocolate crossiants and blueberry friands...

I also set up a tea and coffee station... Glad I did as it was quite the 'chilly' morning...

The Cake...
Every baby shower needs a cake... This was a last minute decision but I think it turned out okay...

Games...
As I wanted a relaxed style baby shower we only played one game... 'Break My Waters'... Each table got a tray of babies frozen in ice cubes and the had to melt the ice to get the babies out... It was definitely a hard task as the morning was a cold one!!..

I also got the guests to 'Guess The Baby' and write down some 'Well Wishes' for the baby to read when it is older... A nice keepsake...

Bonbonniere...
Each guest got to take home a 'Cup of Cake' as a thank you gift... I bought the oven friendly tea cups online and baked vanilla cakes in them... then decorated them with buttons...

Presents...
The baby (and mummy) was very spoilt with a special erray of gifts...

Thank you cards...
I sent out thank you cards with my beautiful two year old daughter holding a picture of the baby's profle picture... Decorated with a wool bow and button...

It was such a special morning... spent with my gorgeous family and friends... a perfect way to enter this new journey in our life...
