Dress ups...

I am just loving the age little Imogen is at... She is nearly 2 (seriously don't know where the time has gone) and she has just gotten into the stage of dress ups.. so we created a 'Dress up' box for her with all types of tiaras, wands, tutus's (some from when I did ballet) and shoes... Imogen will spend hours putting on different outfits.. And if she is lucky I will 'accidently' leave our bedroom door open so she will raid my shoes... I have found it to be such an in-expensive way (bought alot of the clothes from the op shops) to have fun and it really brings out her personality...

Here are some photos of her latest outfits... Enjoy...

Hat and shawl... off to the races we go...

Mummy's shoes... Hipster style...

A girl can never have too many necklaces...

 Very Noosa style...

 Gum-boots and tutu... Very fashionable...

Bailee, the patient dog, gets a make-over too...

Like Mother... Like Daughter...

Feeling a little sentimental today, so I just wanted to share a little something with you...

I love being a stay-at-home-mum... Getting to play dress-ups and tea parties all day with me beautiful daughter... Then when she goes to sleep I have 3 hours (yes, she is a good sleeper!) to get creative and paint, paint paint!...

So where do I get my creative flair from?... My adorable Mother... Throughout my life she has always been creative... Professional sign writer (before computers came to play)... Painting canvas's... Decorating and changing our house reguarly (much to my Father's confusion)... Sewing all our ballet costumes... Helping us with school projects... and to this day she is still hard at work... letting her wonderful gift from God flow out... Restoring furniture the 'Shabby Chic' way... You can see all her stunning work at her blog http://frenchalabeach-homewares.blogspot.com/

So thanks Mum, for letting your creative flair pour out and for letting me embrace and admire it...

Here are some of her pieces for you to admire too... Enjoy...

I can still remember...

I can still remember my wooden high chair as a child... It was painted green/yellow and my mum had made a cushion out of carpet for the base... But as we were a family that moved alot, unfortunately the high chair was forgetten and left in one of our houses manholes... So it was much excitment to me to get my hands on these wooden delights...

This first wooden high chair stands 95cm in height x 49cm in width x 49cm in depth.  The unique heart carving in the back of the chair caught my eye as it looks like something out of 'Heidi'... It is painted  vintage green with a slight shabby chic style... It comes with a cushion base which ties onto the sides for comfort and easily removable to wash... The tray is adjustable and is able to come off if you wish to put the highchair against the dining table... The is a very sturdy high chair and very easy to clean...

Ready for any mess a toddler will throw at it... Enjoy...
This second wooden high chair stands 97cm in height x 49cm in width x 45cm in depth.  I just love the rounded rails which certainly give it its uniqueness... It is painted a soft beige/brown with a slight shabby chic style... It comes with a cushion base which ties onto the sides for comfort and easily removable to wash... The tray is adjustable and is able to come off if you wish to put the highchair against the dining table... The is a very sturdy high chair and very easy to clean...

Ready for any mess a toddler will throw at it... Enjoy...

Twinkle twinkle little star... number two...

This has been a very productive week at Jodé Designs... With two wooden rocking chairs to restore, there has been alot of sanding... painting... sewing... (and maybe some loud singing..)

This gorgeous wooden rocking chair has been restored with a different look in mind.  Since I was restoring it for my beautiful friend Lisa's nursey, we decided to sand it back to its raw form and then oil it to bring out the true character of the wood...  Finishing it off with a cute soft cream/beige cushion...
It lovingly matched the rest of her furniture items creating a delighful story...

Yes, this wooden rocking chair has sold but I wanted to show you all how just one piece of furniture can be the starting piece to any story of a nursery...  I can't wait for Lisa to rock and sing to her little one in this rocking chair... I am sure it will get alot of use... Enjoy...

Twinkle Twinkle little star...

Here is a piece of furniture every baby's room needs... A wooden rocking chair..
I still remember when my dear grandmother rocked me to sleep in her rocking chair singing 'Twinkle Twinkle little star...' and I now (in that same rocking chair) rock my sweet little girl to sleep to the same song...

This charming wooden rocking chair is delightfully comfortable to sit in. It is made from solid wood and has a high back which is great for breastfeeding/bottle feeding. The chair has been restored with a shabby chic look in mind, painted in a soft cream and comes complete with a matching cushion which ties to the rails for support. The chair measures 104cm in height, 54cm in width and 74cm in depth.

A must have for any nursery or child's room... Enjoy...

A lovely weekend away to visit my Aunty and Uncle uncovered some amazing finds...

As I walked past this first little gem I could not let it go... This vintage high chair is the perfect compliment to any little childs room or collectors home... Made out of solid wood, its real charm comes in the many layers of paint which have slowly peeled away over the years... It makes you wonder and dream of the life it has had so far...
