Little Miss and Mister Men Party..

As my birthday and my daughter's birthday are a week apart, this year we decided to have one big combined party.. I love to create parties around story books and since Imogen loves reading the Little Miss and Mister Men books, I thought this was the perfect theme.. God blessed us with a beautiful summer day which was perfect for outdoor activites and ice-creams!!

Here some pictures of the party.. Enjoy..

The invitation had three layers which fanned out..
Guests were asked to wear a bow or a mustache for fun..

The entrance had little miss and mister men stickers
for each guest to wear.. It was a great talking point..
Banners were made out of story book pages.. Easy and an in-expensive idea..

Bright coloured lanterns, character balloons and number “2 & 9”
balloons were placed around for extra colour..

Along with a play-gym, trampoline and sand pit for the kids,
little reading areas where placed with little miss and mister men books..
Children’s table and chairs had colouring inpages with little miss and
mister men pictures.. And a tin of bubbles is always a winner..

The food tables had bright table cloths (plastic) and boxes wrapped in
spotted paper to continue the bright coloured theme..
Jelly oranges were nice to eat during a summers afternoon..
Although they did melt pretty quick..

Chinese boxes filled with popcorn and pretzels were a hit
with both kids and parents..
Red velvet cupcakes.. Which did not last long..

Carrot, celery and capsicum sticks in aioli dressing cups are a nice savoury snack..
Ice-cream palour was a big winner with both kids and adults..
Ice-cream and sorbet were served to suit everyone’s diet needs..

The cakes were large cupcakes (one vanilla and one chocolate)..
Mini blueberry muffins were great for the kids..
The birthday girls wore matching (handmade) ‘Little Miss Birthday’ necklaces..

A photo booth was set up so the adults could have a little fun..
A sign explainig the booth was displayed along with lips,
bows and signs for extra fun..

Some great shots by all were taken..

Little Miss goody bags for the girls..
Which included a Little miss book, handmade hair clips,
character glasses, bubbles and lollipops..

Mister Men goody bags for the boys..
Which included a Mister men book, handmade bow tie,
character glasses, bubbles and lollipops..

The adults got a love lollipop to lick..
Thank you cards were printed with a personal message
and attached to photo booth pictures..

The littliest miss birthday girl had lots of fun..
(and sleep really well that night!!)

For my little girl...

As each piece of furniture arrives at Jodé Designs, it is very hard to not fall in love and keep them for my little girl (or future children).. I usually try to resist and remind myself that I already have a high chair and don't need three of them!!. But when these little beauties came along I had to keep them.. So this last week I have been restoring a child's cradle and rocking horse for my little girl...

Here is some pics to look at.. Enjoy..

Found a home...

Well it has been a busy couple of weeks of selling for Jodé Designs, which we are very excited about! The 1950's Singer Sewing Machine (from 'Finding Gems'), the Rocking Horse (from 'Another little horsey'), the Change Table (from 'Baby + Nappies = Change table') and one of the high chairs (from 'I can still remember') have all gone to new homes... I am blown away by the response I am getting over each piece of furniture created and are contiually grateful for every encouraging word... As I am now all out of items for sale, it is back to the sanding, painting and singing for me!!... More stock to show soon...

Dress ups...

I am just loving the age little Imogen is at... She is nearly 2 (seriously don't know where the time has gone) and she has just gotten into the stage of dress ups.. so we created a 'Dress up' box for her with all types of tiaras, wands, tutus's (some from when I did ballet) and shoes... Imogen will spend hours putting on different outfits.. And if she is lucky I will 'accidently' leave our bedroom door open so she will raid my shoes... I have found it to be such an in-expensive way (bought alot of the clothes from the op shops) to have fun and it really brings out her personality...

Here are some photos of her latest outfits... Enjoy...

Hat and shawl... off to the races we go...

Mummy's shoes... Hipster style...

A girl can never have too many necklaces...

 Very Noosa style...

 Gum-boots and tutu... Very fashionable...

Bailee, the patient dog, gets a make-over too...

Like Mother... Like Daughter...

Feeling a little sentimental today, so I just wanted to share a little something with you...

I love being a stay-at-home-mum... Getting to play dress-ups and tea parties all day with me beautiful daughter... Then when she goes to sleep I have 3 hours (yes, she is a good sleeper!) to get creative and paint, paint paint!...

So where do I get my creative flair from?... My adorable Mother... Throughout my life she has always been creative... Professional sign writer (before computers came to play)... Painting canvas's... Decorating and changing our house reguarly (much to my Father's confusion)... Sewing all our ballet costumes... Helping us with school projects... and to this day she is still hard at work... letting her wonderful gift from God flow out... Restoring furniture the 'Shabby Chic' way... You can see all her stunning work at her blog http://frenchalabeach-homewares.blogspot.com/

So thanks Mum, for letting your creative flair pour out and for letting me embrace and admire it...

Here are some of her pieces for you to admire too... Enjoy...

Found a home...

Just thought you would like to know that the Jodé Designs 'Twinkle Twinkle little star' wooden rocking chair has found a new home... I really loved this particular piece of furniture and feel a sigh of relief that it is going to a great home... I am sure Luke and his wife Penelope are going to get alot of use out of this wooden rocking chair in the years to come... Again, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your warm words of encouragement over each piece of furniture Jodé Designs has created...

Another little horsey...

After the warming response to my last rocking horse, thank you, I was very much enticed to create another one... So here it is...

This adorable wooden rocking horse is 69cm in height x 78cm in length x 30cm in width...  It is painted grey with a slight shabby chic look...  Its real character comes in the white mane and tall, fabric cushion and rope reign which makes the horse come to life...  Definitely a keeper for any child's room or play area...

Hours of fun to be had by all... Enjoy... Here is the ebay link...
